Description
Originating in Central Asia, they are normally brown to grey with a lighter underside with large ears and small eyes. They weight between 10 and 25 grams. Mice will drink water if available but can survive on food with a moisture content of 15%. It is omnivorous, feeding from a number of different points.
Habitat
Areas favoured by mice are food storage and preparation areas such as kitchens and pantries. Airing cupboards, sub-floor areas, enclosed pipes and baths in bathrooms and loft areas are also favoured areas.
Threats
Mice can cause damage by gnawing through cables and the like and by infesting commodoties in store, such as grain or cereal.
