Case Studies

Household Scenario

Mrs Jones noticed she had lost power to a bedroom light and called for an electrician. Following an inspection the electrician diagnosed that a rodent had chewed through some power cabling meaning a cable had to be rewired.

PCS were called in for a site visit, which confirmed the diagnosis.

After agreeing a course of action with Mrs Jones, PCS eradicated the problem and ensured it wouldn't reoccur.

Work undertaken included the removal of debris from the loft space including dead animals, replacement of the loft insulation and application of fungicide agent to remove infestations of ticks and flees caused by rodent droppings. Also the identification and repair of the entry points to prevent re-entry and future problems.

Hotel/B&B Scenario

Guests at a hotel were complaining that they were getting bitten during the night. PCS arrived discreetly, in unmarked vehicles, diagnosed the pest problem and administered residue chemical treatment within a three metre radius of the bed, including mattress, bed frame, skirting boards and all carpets, eradicating the problem and preventing recurrence. Effective quick treatment and discreet site visits are key when dealing with sensitive pest issues.

Estate agent/Landlord Scenario

Following the removal of an unwelcome tenant, PCS were called in to undertake a house clearance and to eradicate any problems found. Having removed rubbish, soiled carpets and scrap furniture, PCS also undertook a fumigation of the property to remove an infestation of cockroaches. Following treatment the property was ready to be let out again.

School Scenario

A caretaker at a local junior school identified a wasp nest in a school sports hall and contacted PCS to remove the problem. PCS completed this removal with the minimum of fuss and no disruption to the students whilst repairing the property to prevent the wasps revisiting the spot again.

Cafe/Takeaway Scenario

A rodent and cockroach problem was identified by the proprietors of a cafe. Urgent action was required to address the infestation as soon as possible following a closure order.

With our same-day service, PCS arrived in a discreet unmarked vehicle to begin treating the premises immediately so that the venue could be reinstated with a certificate for the supply of fresh food.

To help further, PCS were able to issue a valid work service record to inform authorities, such as the environmental health officers aiding derestriction of the premises and supplied extensive support to prevent any repeat outbreaks.
