Ants

Although ants are irritating when they invade the home or workplace, most common species don't carry disease. However, this isn't true of all ant species and it is impossible to know whether ants have become contaminated. It is sensible to take steps to prevent them entering your home or workplace and most importantly food storage or preperation areas.

Entry

Ants can enter through even the tiniest cracks, seeking water and sweet or greasy food substances in the kitchen pantry or storeroom areas.

Scent trails:

Ants leave an invisible chemical trail which contains pheromones for others to follow once they locate the food source.

Nest locations

They can nest about anywhere in and around your house and workplace; in lawns, walls, stumps, even under foundations.

Colony size

Can number up to 300,000 to 500,000 and whole colonies can uproot and relocate quickly when threatened.

Colony lifetime

A colony can live a relatively long lifetime. Worker ants may live up to seven years and the queen may live as long as 15 years.

Ant control

While DIY products can deal with smaller ant problems or problems with garden ants, a professional pest control service will be required for larger or multiple infestations and certainly when the ants are Pharoah's Ants.

PCS technicians understand the habits of each species and also have a range of powerful products to deal with ants and provide a reassurance that the problem won't return.
